JOB DESCRIPTION

 

POSITION TITLE:   FACILITIES MANAGER       FLSA: Exempt

 

POSITION SUMMARY:      Under general supervision: Shares in the responsibility for the overall operation/administration of the Resort & Casino Facilities and/or maintenance activities in accordance with management directives, policies and procedures.

 

SUPERVISION EXERCISED/RECEIVED:           Supervised by the Facilities Superintendent . Supervises the Assistant Facilities Superintendent, Groundskeeper Supervisor, Hard Maintenance Supervisor, HVAC Technicians, Electricians, Appliance Repair Technician and support personnel as required.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists the Facilities Superintendent in each of the following:

1.                1.                  Direct, supervise and evaluate the work assigned employees.

2.                2.                  Inspect buildings, facilities and equipment for damage and/or vandalism. Ensure that repairs are made.

3.                3.                  Oversee and/or remodel existing areas.

4.                4.                  Oversee installation and maintenance of heating/cooling units.

5.                5.                  Oversee maintenance of Casino and Resort grounds.

6.                6.                  Maintain inventory and order equipment/supplies as needed.

7.                7.                  Oversee staff schedules.

8.                8.                  Interview applicants and make hire and discharge recommendations.

9.                9.                  Initiate employee performance reviews

10.            10.              Prepare and maintain files, records, reports, and related documents in support of departmental activities.

11.            11.              Conducts staff meetings and ensure effective customer/employee relations.

12.            12.              Enforce general Resort and Casino policies, rules, practices, procedures and other management control documents.

13.            13.              Coordinate the maintenance and preservation of Resort and Casino equipment.

14.            14.              Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1.                1.                  Ability to supervise and direct the work of others.

2.                2.                  Ability to type, prepare and maintain office reports and records.

3.                3.                  Ability to maintain an equipment/supply inventory.

4.                4.                  Knowledge of the operation/maintenance requirement on electrical, heating, cooling and related building mechanical systems.

5.                5.                  Knowledge of basic carpentry.

6.                6.                  Knowledge of general safety rules, requirements, procedures and reporting requirements.

7.                7.                  Ability to communicate effectively and maintain good public relations.

8.                8.                  Knowledge of overall supplies used in casino operations.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Management with one (1) year experience in general construction, building maintenance, custodial and/or yard maintenance. Prior supervisory experience required. Responsible experience may substitute, year for year, for the required education.

 

GAMING STATUS:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a STGC Non Gaming License at the Key employee level.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

1.               1.                  Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outdoor work is subject to extreme temperatures and inclement weather conditions.

2.               2.                  Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

3.               3.                  Work hours are subject to change with overtime work required.

4.               4.                  Subject to hazards, which may cause personal bodily harm; smoke, common colds, influenza, dust, orders and elevated noise levels.

5.               5.                  Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft-carpeted floors, outdoor surfaces, cement structures and surfaces.

6.               6.                  Duties may involve walking, standing for long periods of time, sitting and crouching. Specifically required movements include the following:

Trunk-bend, twist, rotate, push, pull, and carry

Arms-reach, carry, lift, twist, and rotate

Legs-lift, push, pull, twist, and rotate

Hands-Grasp, manipulate, bilateral coordination, hand and eye coordination, overall and finger dexterity.

Facilities Manager for its new 50,000 SF building and 4 acre grounds.
Qualifications include five years experience in facilities and maintenance
management; prior experience directly providing building mechanical,
electrical, etc. maintenance and repair. Prior museum experience preferred.
Must be flexible and able to collaborate with creative staff to support
educational mission. Must be willing to do any work necessary for effective

operation. BA/BS degree in related field preferred. Local candidates
preferred. Salary: $30,000 - $36,000 depending on experience and
qualifications.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Supervises maintenance staff/contractors
- Maintains DCC for HVAC
- Establishes and implements preventive maintenance program
- Maintains safe working conditions and practices
- Trains employees in proper work practices and safety procedures
- Responsible for budget adherence
- Maintains the interior and exterior of the building and grounds
- Provides for 24 hour coverage for the HVAC systems and facility
