POSITION SUMMARY:
To monitor, maintain, repair and install, commissioning of automation control systems and general servicing of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC) equipment to include detailed troubleshooting of systems various systems, on large capacity centrifugal chillers, refrigeration systems, packaged rooftop units, evaporative coolers, high and low pressure boilers, pumps, valves, electrical/mechanical building automation controls, controllers and general associated plumbing throughout assigned facility; to lead, train and participate in the more complex and difficult work of staff responsible for maintaining and repairing heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC) equipment; and to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED supplemented by sixty (60) credit hours of vocational training or completion of a two (2) year technical program in HVAC/Automation, plus five (5) years full-time electronic systems installation, maintenance and repair experience. Specialized training with complex electronic or digital control systems desirable. Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis. Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver’s License. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid City Operator’s Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire. Possession of a valid New Mexico Journeyman Refrigeration Certification. Possession of a valid Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) within six (6) months from date of hire. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Construction Industries Division BO2 Boilers License for Low/High Pressure within six (6) months from date of hire. Possession of a valid Digital Systems Control Certification (DSC) issued by Automated Logic Corporation within six (6) months from date of hire. Possession of a valid Natural Academy of Engineering Certification (NAE) issued by Automated Logic Corporation within six (6) months from date of hire.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Position requires: Background check, Pre-employment physical, Shift work, Odd days off.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
Operating principles of Variable Air Volume (VAV); Variable Mechanical Attributer (VMA); and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
Operating characteristics of Air Delivery Test and Balance procedures and requirements
Operations, services and activities of a general maintenance program
Operating principles of a wide range of heating, ventilation and air conditioning units
Operate a variety of specialty HVAC maintenance equipment and tools in a safe and effective manner
Read and use precision measuring instruments and gauges and understand the functional nature of installed machinery and systems
Interpret, explain and enforce department policies and procedures
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work

Regular Part-Time Instructor Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration

(A0809-17) – School of Applied Technologies

Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Director of Construction and Mechanical Technologies Programs, teach theory and lab classes in Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration to CNM students. Follow course documents, communicate with students, supervisor, faculty and staff, maintain objective grading system, meet instructor expectations, maintain class meeting schedules, attend program meetings, and maintain flexible schedule allowing for evening and weekend classes. To ensure compliance with federal and college requirements some mandatory training must be completed for this position.  

Salary: Paid by the course according to the educational level of the instructor  

Requirements: Five (5) recent years HVAC/R residential or commercial or industrial experience at a Journeyman Level. Demonstrated experience working with EPA regulations, mechanical code HVAC/R, and the Uniform Mechanical code required. EPA Universal certification required.

DESCRIPTION:

Develop and implement market and product strategies for the product line, market segments, and world-wide locations. Identify and maintain a database on renewable energy incentives as well as competing technologies. Work with division management to develop strategic and operational synergy for new business to assure that success can be achieved. Coordinate internal resources as needed. Provide key account management as assigned. Prepare advertising literature, datasheets, customer requests for quotes and prepare specifications and proposals.
