14th
Annual Golf Scholarship Fundraiser
Featured Record Crowd, Door Prizes for
All!
With 167 golfers and 24 helpers, the New Mexico
Facility Managers Network 2008 Scholarship Fundraiser Golf Tournament
topped last year’s record for attendance, virtually guaranteeing a
record donation this December to the scholarship funds at the University
of New Mexico and Central New Mexico Community College. After
dominating all three “nines” on a picture perfect day at the Isleta
Eagle Championship Golf Course, golfers and golf helpers alike left the
event with a door prize in hand.
Loyalty form the membership and its constituents
is the one constant factor in the annual event’s continued success.
Distinct contributions, both large and small, from both countless
companies and outstanding individuals personalized the gathering.
Again the trend to companies fielding multiple
teams of golfers continued as they competed in the Championship Division
to win the esteemed silver trophy. But the golfers in the ABCD Scramble
Division enjoyed the outing, too.
Tables full of valuable door prizes mitigated
even a bad day on the greens. Power tools, a miniature scooter,
restaurant gift certificates, and loads of golf gear and much much more
left with the athletes after the post-game buffet.
First-timer John Topp from Shamrock Foods
quipped, “Wow! Great people, wonderful grounds and clubhouse, food, and
door prizes for all! See you next year, that is for certain!”
