January -  The annual New Mexico Facility Managers Network (NMFMN) December breakfast featured a scholarship endowment, great information, interactive conversations, delicious food and lots of door prizes.  Best of all, it was free

February - Public Service Company of New Mexico is vested in helping its commercial business customers reduce their energy use and consequently save money.

March -  Commercial and industrial electrical power users and their supplier partners gathered at the February meeting of the New Mexico Facility Managers Network to hear the details of the Public Service Company of New Mexico’s energy efficiency incentives.  Eric Seelinger, PNM’s energy efficiency guru, lead the crowd through parameters of the available programs and provided specific answers to more in-depth questions.

April -Members and guests of the New Mexico Facility Managers Network were initiated into the world of roof maintenance, siding protection, and parking lot preservation at the March breakfast meeting of the organization.  Again and again, the common denominator in avoiding high costs for repairs of these staple facility components is to practice preventive maintenance.

May - The Latest and Greatest in Flooring and Movable Walls Was Featured At the April 16th Meeting

June -  Albuquerque, New Mexico’s Mayor Martin Chávez feels strongly that City government should lead the way in setting green standards and providing financial incentives for businesses to build green.  Mayor Chávez has already set green building standards for all building projects funded by the City, including requirements to meet or exceed LEED Silver rating.

July - Members and guests of the New Mexico Facility Managers Network enjoyed a perfect evening at the Isotopes ballpark.

August -  With 167 golfers and 24 helpers, the New Mexico Facility Managers Network 2008 Scholarship Fundraiser Golf Tournament topped last year’s record for attendance, virtually guaranteeing a record donation this December to the scholarship funds at the University of New Mexico and Central New Mexico Community College.

September -  Stevens touched base on the history of LEED, which is properly titled the LEED Green Building Rating System.

October - An overflow crowd gathered in September at the Sandia Resort’s Eagle Room to honor and recognize the people and projects focused on energy efficiency, and then gain perspective on the state of the state’s economy from a home-grown expert.

November - The Votes Are In: 2008 NMFMN’s Supplier Showcase Wins by a Landslide
