January - Braving the worst winter weather that Albuquerque has seen in ten years, members and guests of the New Mexico Facility Managers Network ploughed through the storm to enjoy camaraderie, carne adovada, and free goodies as well as interesting information on the growth of the metro area at the traditional December breakfast. February - “The energy market is hot again,” claimed Dr. Chet Boortz, Advent’s Vice President of Development. March - Members and guests at the February meeting of the New Mexico Facility Managers Network were deluged with information about a very complex, divisive, expensive, and political problem facing the State of New Mexico: the history and future of our water rights and usage. April - Changes at the national level drive home changes in the Albuquerque market pertaining to compliance with fire alarm codes and standards. Although at first glance this is a complex subject, help is available and, inevitably, compliance is mandatory. Members and guests at the March meeting of the New Mexico Facility Managers Network received timely information on an important life/safety subject. May - An overflow crowd packed the New Mexico Facility Managers Network meeting in April, hoping to pass Roofing 101, taught in an enlighting and entertaining way by master roofer Tom Johns from National Roofing Company. June - How will you survive if the influenza pandemic predicted by the World Health Organization materializes? September - Facility managers and their suppliers and guests got an education in the dangers of electrical arc flash and a taste for what the future holds for them in terms of compliance at the August meeting of the New Mexico Facility Managers Network. October - Members of the New Mexico Facility Managers Network (NMFMN) joined ranks with the New Mexico Association of Energy Engineers (NMAEE) and the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) to acknowledge the contributions of distinct individuals and organizations towards energy efficiency and conservation at a joint meeting in September. November - New Mexico is one of the states where the opportunity to harness the power of the sun for both business and residential power applications is a real possibility, given the large number of sunshine-filled days the region enjoys. |
